Ruby's Visit to the Stables

Our client Ruby requires sensory support from her care team on a daily basis. This includes supporting her to attend activities that could potentially be a positive sensory experience for her. As Ruby is nonverbal, her care team monitor her facial expressions and body language to determine how Ruby is feeling and what she wants or needs.

Ruby’s care team recently supported her to visit the stables where she was able to stroke the horses, which she immensely enjoyed, and one young foal called Smokey Joe seemed to be as interested and happy to be with Ruby as she was with him.

We are so glad Ruby and her care team had such a wonderful time at the stables! It’s great to see our clients accessing the community to achieve their outcomes and for this to have such a positive impact on their wellbeing.
