Here at Solo, we love to hear how receiving a Personal Budget has a positive impact on people's lives. Our client Matthew has been in touch to share his experience of personalised support.

Matthew was awarded a Direct Payment several years ago due to his vulnerability and lack of confidence. He and his family turned to Solo in 2017 to explore more personalised support and to build a package of care around Matthew to help expand his experiences and quality of life.

Solo was able to employ Matthew's father John to assist him and this was the start of a much happier life for Matthew and also John. This person-centred support, provided by the person who knows him best, means Matthew's engagement in the wider community has increased and subsequently his confidence has flourished and his quality of life has improved no end. He is now living the life he wants to lead, accompanied by his father who no longer has to worry about his son being unsafe or unfulfilled.
