🌟February 2023 Stars of the Month🌟

Thank you to everyone who nominated colleagues for February’s ‘Star of the Month’ Competition in conjunction with Dignity in Action. It has been a humbling experience to read your entries and a difficult decision to make.

We are proud to announce our winner is Debbie Saunders, Business Development Manager.

Debbie was nominated by a number of colleagues for her continuous work in shaping personalisation both here at Solo for our clients and the people most important to them, but with other stakeholders such as NHS England and numerous commissioning bodies across the country. Debbie promotes and upholds the centralised focus of choice and control and co-production. As a result many clients have thanked her for her tireless efforts to enable them to have a package of care that is bespoke to their individual wishes and needs.

Nominees:

Lisa Crossland, Support Worker

Lisa was nominated by our clients Mum for her fantastic support to her daughter. In particular, how far Lisa has come to get to know our client, her role and how she goes above and beyond each day supporting with complex needs and at all times ensuring her daughter feels comfortable, supporting her with compassion and care.

Megan Hanbury, Direct Payment Service Administrator

Megan was nominated for her committed support to her colleagues, hard work and supporting her colleagues during a very busy period. Megan demonstrated ’team' support to ensure the service to clients was at the fore.

Charlotte Edwards, Client Relations Manager

Charlotte was nominated by her colleagues specifically for her compassionate support for one of our clients and his family, facilitation of his wishes and organising complex care arrangements, recruitment and in general her advocacy ensuring he got to spend Christmas at home.

Charlotte went above and beyond, ensuring our client felt in control, championing his wishes to ensure he was able to go home to his family, and be in familiar surroundings and have a PA who he felt comfortable with, happy and relaxed. Charlotte demonstrated dignity in action, against a lot of obstacles to fulfil a desire to be with his family & a safe discharge. Fulfilling how compassion and dignity can be a driving force to make the ‘impossible' - ‘possible’.

Emma McFeely, Client Relations Manager

Emma was nominated by her colleagues for her compassion, support, dedication and teamwork. Emma has demonstrated how supporting each other is important and can be extremely powerful in spreading kindness to help others. Emma was described as ‘going above and beyond’ in her support for others.

Wendy Davies, Personal Assistant

Wendy was nominated by her colleague for her positive thinking in difficult circumstances, promoting dignified care and ensuring our client was supported and comfortable. Wendy demonstrated strength, calmness in a pressurised situation to ensure our clients best interests were at the forefront all the while ensuring she felt safe.

A special mention to all of our colleagues far and wide who provide support to our clients, we thank you for all you do.
