Amber Heat Alert

“The Met Office has issued an Amber Heat Alert for much of southern and eastern England next week. Temperatures are set to climb as high as 34°C, with the Met Office stating that “the warmth will expand and intensify … which, coupled with high temperatures overnight, leads to potential impacts”.

To beat the heat make sure you: 

• Keep in touch with people more susceptible to heat-related illnesses, listen to the news and weather forecast, and plan ahead to avoid the heat
• Keep well by drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding excess alcohol, dressing appropriately for the weather, and slowing down when it is hot
• Find somewhere cool
• Watch out for signs of heat-related illnesses"
