ABOUT THE ROLE
I am a teenage boy with complex health needs including epilepsy and four-limb motor disorder. I currently live at home with my family and friendly dog. I am a socially energetic young teenager who loves being involved in activities, which includes spending time with my family going outside for walks and school, I rely on my wheelchair and other equipment to support me to mobilise in my home environment and community; I need supervision throughout the day and evening due to my health needs. My conditions mean that I require support with all aspects of my evening routine and the suitable candidate will need to be able to support me with various tasks throughout the day, these include but are not limited to personal care, feeding, administering of medication, and my bedtime routine. It will be 1:1 care; however, there will be occasions where it will be 2:1 care.
ABOUT YOU
We need someone who can be flexible, whilst we figure out the best shift patterns. We do; however, think It is really important that we find the right person/people who can connect with me well and into our family, therefore, we would appreciate someone who is able to pick up additional hours where needed including weekends. We want someone who is kind, reliable, adaptive and has a relaxed and friendly approach. We would love someone who loves similar activities to myself such as listening to music and outdoor activities as you will be supporting me with these activities. Ideally, we want someone who has experience with Learning Disabilities, and Epilepsy; however, training will be provided.
