I am a 9-year-old boy with complex health needs, living at home with my family and 2 friendly dogs. I am a socially energetic young boy who loves being involved in activities, which includes playing with my tambourine and spending time outside in the garden. As I am registered blind and have a hearing impairment, I need support at all times to keep me safe. I rely on my wheelchair and other equipment to support me mobilise in my home environment and community.
The ideal candidate will be energetic and fit to keep up with me and my activities. You will need to be part of my team, taking the lead from my Mum. You need to be flexible and be able to support me during the day and night, helping me to develop to reach my milestones even though I may take slightly longer to get to them. I need you to be calm, devoted and able to think on your feet.
Experience of working with children between the ages of 9-13 would be advantageous. Full training will be provided to meet my complex health needs; however, it would be beneficial to have experience of Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG).
Available hours will include an 11 or 12 hour Saturday night shift on alternate weeks. There will also be a requirement to cover additional shifts on weekdays (excluding Thursday and Friday) and weekends on an ad-hoc basis, as cover is required within the team to cover any holidays and sickness.
The rates of pay are as follows: £10.89 per hour for day hours on weekdays, £12.85 for night hours on weekdays and £14.99 for weekend hours.
