Nailsea, South West
An opportunity has arisen to support three young adults in their own home. They would like to build a team of support around them, to include waking nights staff to support all of three adults. Each young adult requires their own support with health or social care tasks, but you will be required to learn about all three and be able to support all of them but only working in their house.
They are all very keen to get the best out of everyday life. Amongst other things they enjoy spending time with their friends and family, looking after their purpose-built house, being active and listening to music or watching TV. However, the reality is that they need the support of skilled individuals, who pride themselves on high standards of support, in order to live their life and to do the things they love. It is important that they have fun and stay fit. It is also important that they spend time with people who understand their ways in which they view the world and communicate and ways in which everyday life can worry and cause them anxiety. Without the support of a genuinely caring, trustworthy and committed team of individuals they will not be able to achieve this. They are looking for waking night staff to join an existing support team, which has high expectations and focuses on excellent standards.
The right individuals will have a natural caring nature and be able to provide sensitive understanding of their needs. They all enjoy a varied life, so flexibility is essential. They are looking for level headed, calm individuals who are adaptable and are able to think on their feet. Simply, they will have to be genuinely interested in all aspects their life and be enthusiastic about ensuring that their life is fun and interesting. Good communication with them and their family is also very important. You must be fluent in written and spoken English.
A range of training opportunities will be available, particularly highly personalised training in order that excellent person-centred support can be provided. Individuals must be female, for the waking nights due to the personal nature of the role. Public Holidays will be paid at time and a half.
Waking Night role (pay rate £11.00-£13.00 per hour dependent on experience). Wake nights are 9 hours long starting at 10pm and finishing at 7am with a four on four shift pattern.
