Scunthorpe, East of England
I am a young girl who is nearly 2 years old with a very vibrant personality who loves playing with my family and really enjoy lots of noise and activity around me. I attend play sessions which I really enjoy and love exploring places outside of my home. I have lots of health problems which my community team support me and my family with. At birth I had Tetralogy of Fallot and absent pulmonary valve which has now been surgically repaired. I also have a stent in my right ventricular to pulmonary artery conduit and trachea bronchomalacia which I need home ventilation. I am fed via my Micky G/Jejunostomy button. I also have developmental delay, but I am learning to roll over.
I have a tracheostomy in place which helps me keep my airway clear. I require long term mechanical ventilation due to the weakness of my breathing. I also required to be suctioned throughout the day and night to keep my airway clear. I sometimes require oxygen therapy. I am nil by mouth therefore all my nutrition goes via my special feeding button into my tummy. I also have another button on my tummy which allows the fluid to drain away that it too much for my tummy to handle.
