ABOUT THE ROLE

I am a 35-year-old neurodivergent woman with impaired vision and coordination. I have full capacity and no intellectual impairment. I do not require personal care and I am independent-minded. I am motivated to develop my independence further, although I am currently unable to go out alone.

I am sociable, chatty and have a cheeky sense of humour. Clear spoken English and confident communication skills are essential due to my visual impairment. I am a keen singer and am exploring paid and voluntary work in this area.

I also swim regularly. While I am a strong swimmer, I require someone to swim alongside me for orientation and safety, as I tend to zigzag.

My challenging behaviour relates to impulse control difficulties associated with my condition. I am reflective after incidents, but I need support from people who understand that insight does not always equal immediate regulation. Calm, confident and emotionally regulated support is essential. I am comfortable working with people of any gender, ideally close to my own age. You must be comfortable working around pets.
