Hourly Rate: £11.91 per hour rising to £13.16 per hour at 3 month’s service, then £15.04 per hour upon successfully passing training competencies and probationary period at 6 month’s service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

I am a young lady with a learning disability, clinical diagnoses and limited verbal communication. I communicate with various electronic aids, and by BSL. I live at home with my family in the Morpeth area of Northumberland.
I am looking for a Support Workers to join my fabulous team, to cover a staff member for maternity leave for 30 hours per week.

ABOUT YOU

Knowledge and qualifications:

You must have experience of, or be willing to commit to training in PBS (Positive Behavioural Support - training will be provided).

Experience of working with people with additional communication needs and a qualification in British sign language, or a willingness to complete training in this (training will be provided).

Ensure behaviour support plan and other care plans are understood and adhered to. This will ensure that the goal is met of supporting me to live my best possible life.

Good level of computer literacy using; Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google sheets and Excel to complete accurate daily records and monitoring.

The ideal candidate would be: enthusiastic, patient, fun to be around, strong communication skills, have a caring nature, trustworthy, respectful, able to take direction and possess a genuine commitment to the role.

Great at working as part of a team and also working on your own initiative, taking direction from the Senior Support worker, Solo Support Services, my family and other professionals involved in my support package.

You will take direction from the Senior Support worker in adhering to a Positive Behavioural Support framework of support for me, along with a number of strategies in place to help me be the best I can be.

You need to be a happy, positive, and caring person. I love to get out and socialise, and will need you to support me with my chosen activities. I enjoy going out to see friends, go bowling, shopping, etc.

You will be expected to take me out in my mobility car.

Car drivers with a full, clean driving license are essential, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes.

I require female applicants only to support me with personal care.
