I am a fun loving, happy and vibrant young teenage boy who is intelligent and sociable. I have complex health needs which mean I need support 24 hours per day with 2 Support Workers. These include Epilepsy, PEG fed, tracheostomy, regular suctioning and physiotherapy, along with postural care and I am wheel chair bound. In addition I require support with all aspects of personal care and tasks of daily living. I enjoy going to school and socialising with family and friends.
The ideal candidate needs to be fun loving, confident, assertive and a team player. You need to be able to establish a good relationship with my family. Be able to work in a team and follow instructions from a clinical lead. Previous health experience is essential. You will need to commit to a 6-month training period to become competent to support in a 2:1 ratio. You should be able to think on your feet whilst at the same time being a good communicator and want to provide high standards of care to improve my quality of life. You need to be flexible and be able to work unsociable hours. Days, nights, weekends and bank holiday
Experience is essential although full training will be provided in the specialist care I receive. I am currently looking for full time hours (37.5 hours per week) and these are being paid at a rate of £10 per hour for each 12.15 hour shift until fully competent and then £12.50 per hour.
