We are looking for a positive, reliable, and sensitive person to join our great team looking after a lovely 26-year-old women. Her rare genetic condition means she is cortically blind, has intractable epilepsy and uses a wheelchair. She is happy, warm and sociable. She loves to be out and about and enjoys music, dancing, massage, cafes, yoga, walks, good food and swimming. She communicates non-verbally. She lives in her own flat and is supported by a team of support workers.
The candidate must have experience and be a confident driver with full driving license. It would be useful to have previous experience working with people with learning difficulties and epilepsy, although full training will be given to the right person.
Hours: Two afternoons/evening a week 3pm/4pm-9pm and Sunday 8.30am-3pm or 3pm-9 pm with some flexibility for the right candidate and opportunity for additional work in the holidays. We offer excellent training and support and the hourly rate is £14 per hour weekdays and £15 per hour weekend days plus 6-weeks holiday pay.
